Zeppo was not banned due to public pressure. He was banned for using child abuse and rape as the basis of a few misplaced jokes. And people may have over-reacted but I think that had it not been for him crossing the line he would still be here. But Zeppo is not and it is time to get on with our lives.

Zeppo provoked you all to see how you'd react. He never had any serious malicious intent, but was intruiged and amused by overblown reactions. So many of you took him at face value, without ever trying to read him at a level above the most basic literal interpretation you could possibly manage. You showed unshameless hatred of the guy like children who've had their favourite toy stolen. If you'd tried to be the bigger person, you'd have seen the whole picture.

The best analogy I can think of to the Zeppo banning is this:
If you're in a zoo and you tease the monkeys too much, you'll get thrown out.
