The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
As mentioned in another thread there were issues with FTP and the Beta versions of IE7 but it seems these are still in the final version.
Using IE7 logged in to MyFreeola and using the "Web Space FTP Link" under the Web Sites option - IE7 opens a read-only version in FTP.
If you have selected the IE7 option (Tools>Internet Options>Advanced) to "Enable FTP folder view" then you can click on the PAGE dropdown and select "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer". The first time you do this you will need to click File>Login As and fill in your sr account and password - clicking 'save password' as required. The next time you use the "Open FTP site in Windows Explorer" option it should log you straight in.
So it seems that the current release of IE7 has messed up Freeola's useful direct FTP link!
Using a separate FTP client such as FileZilla now looks like the best way to go http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/.
Do other IE7 Freeola users see the same when using their MyFreeola FTP link?
This has all been keyed in a bit of a rush - when I have some more time to investigate I'll update the post.
So far it seems the official FTP fix for IE7 'beta' to 'release' seems to be the addition of the login failure message advising you to use FILE and LOGIN AS when you try to view files using the Windows Explorer option.
For Freeola this completely messes up the MyFreeola direct FTP link which is a shame!
