Downloaded this last night based on the reputation it seems to have among certain forum members. Will be watching it this evening, although I flicked through the file this morning to check quality.

Battle Royale doesn't yet have a US release, because the distributor was concerned about the messages portrayed in the film after columbine. It is a fantastic film - if you do buy the DVD, be sure to get the original as the special edition spoils the film somewhat...
I'm pretty sure the sequel is out in British Cinemas in Fevurary!
The book deserves more publicity.
Buy the damn DVD. This film deserves to rekindle more profit.

It's BEYOND excellent - I loved it, it's well made and underneath all that blood and gore, its a story of friendship and trust. I think western film makers need to take a look at Battle Royale and take note of it. Its got no spectacular special effects, the characters and storyline make up for that. I felt that Nokiro and Shuya we're created excellently, and the scene at the lighthouse (where all the girls kill each other) was beautifully done.
As soon as you've seen it, haul your ass over to amazon.co.uk and order the book that the film was based on. It's probably the best book i've read in years, and there's quite a lot of things that aren't included in the film.
If you liked the film, you'll love the book.
