Perhaps because Torax believed we had a right to know too?
Here we have no way of contacting people. We don't (for the most part) have each other's phone numbers, addresses, or know their friends or relatives.
Friendships form online as in real life. If you died, you'd want your friends to know, wouldn't you?
Business like that should be kept personal. How would you like it if you dided - then someone started posting about you on the internet?
