Yes... I know what you're thinking... little joke to reply to ssxpro...

But actually, it's true!

The Gamecube is being pushed foward for a early launch, and is going to be released in Japan in July!

This then means that America will get it in September, a month eariler.

Unfortuantly, no more word on the Europe launch, and Spring 2002 is said to be likely... although if the machines are being made now... and they think they will be finished early, then the PAL format can be produced very quickly.

Good news, almost. :D

I agree with Grix.

Wait a a year for the GC and buy a DC to fill the gap.

They're quite chaep now with plenty of good quality games!

Did I read that correctly?

Mini-PS2?

Bloody hell, first we get a mini PS one when the PS2 is announced and as soon as it's released we hear of the mini PS2.

What a stupid attempt of making money!

Autumn 2001...hmmmm I suppose FM will be right not just due to the new gimmick but the PAL PS2 came out just after the U.S version, think about it!

This is the last time I will EVER say this:

GameCube Release: UK, Autumn 2002.

(Why don't they listen?)

Yeah... Japan still July, America October, and Europe is still likely to change... Ant.

But is it for the better? I say no.

It should be held back... and in a way, we Europeans are getting the better deal. Because the system will be released later, it gives more time for games to be got out, and will stop such companies such as Rare and Retro Studios, who are making Metriod, from rushing their products.

Hark, hear the rabble shout, but I'm sticking to this. After a little think, I would rather have the Gamecube delayed than put forward. I don't want a repeat of the N64 launch.

Just to clear all this up here is what will happen...

...er...I don't actually know but what I do know is that the longer Nintendo put off releases the more sales they will lose. If the Gamecube is released before the mini-PS2 then Nintendo could be done for, I know the GC is beter than the PS2 on paper but look at it like this, that didn't stop people buying the PSX. The N64 had no loading times and better graphics but PSX was a much bigger hit. Just because the PS2 has had a rocky start Nintendo can't afford to run round postponing release dates. Playstation is a big enough name to sell a sequel, if it is at the right price with the right games, and by the GC release date it could be, then people will snap it up, believe me, Nintendo haven't won yet!

Or not....

Reuters made a mistake, so it's back to an October release for the USA.

Surely saying Spring for a European release is to make us think we have a long wait then they'll suddenly bring it forward to November....

Wishfull thinking?

Not that it makes much difference to be, I'm eternally broke!
