I'm quite a fan of the Buffy serieses but I just checked out how much it would cost to buy all 6 of them on dvd as I was considering getting them for Christmas.

£333

How about NO!

Does anyone else find this a little overpriced?
I was expecting maybe £200 because there are a lot of episodes but hell that is too much!

Maybe I'll just get a couple of serieses instead!

Theres only 1 stand alone episode and thats the Musical, but that comes on the Season 6 boxset any way.

I think they should release Angel and Buffy as £40 retail price, as 24 is ususally that sort of price and as well as Alias. If they were only £35 from online shops like Alias and 24 then I would consider buying them, but I can see why they should be so much compared to simlar boxsets that have the same number of episodes.

Don't forget all those other episodes that stand alone. For example the all singing all dancing episode. I'm not sure if that comes with one of the series box sets but everytime I've seen it it has been on a DVD of it's own.

You can get the video boxsets after christmas on BOGOF from most places. That's what I do. Go to the right places and you migh be able to find them at £30 each if you're lucky. £210 for all of them on video. Might be worth getting them on region 1 DVD in that case.

Yeah they are a bit pricey. Take 24 for example which has 2 extra episodes and only costs £33 online, where as Buffy still costs £60 online, apart from the 12 episode Season 1 set.

Yep, I agree it stuck to the same formula a few too many times.

Start of series: "There's a big bad coming"

Hardly surprising.

I'd say Series 1&2 were good, but after that they stuck too rigidly to the formula.

There's only so many fights you can see and so many 'californian style' quips before it gets tiresome.

Buffy was good, after series 1 it was rubbish. Same thing happens with all programmes, are good at the start but soon out of ideas and become rubbish.

What sort of deranged weirdo buys a set of the series?

I was pointing out the occurence of the number '666'.

You can't be that big a Buffy fan if you didn't get that.
