I have already posted this in the PS2 forum, but it gets less and less popular in there as the FOG gets ever more popular, so I`ve decided to put it here too:

Does the position of the console affect the chance of the discs getting scratched?
If you decide to reply, could you please put the following:

Position of console : (Vertical or Horizontal)
Do you use a stand : (Yes or No)
Have you had any scratching problems : (Yes or No)

Here are the results so far:

Vertical _ Yes _ No _ (ssxpro)
Vertical _ Yes _ No _ (Wookiee Monster)
Vertical _ No _ No _ (Viperfire)
Vertical _ Yes _ No _ (Panders)
Horizontal _ No _ No _ (davey(was_dave)
Horizontal _ Yes _ No _ (World In My Eyes)
Horizontal _ No _ Yes _ (Thunderhawk)
Horizontal _ No _ No _ (Craig)
Horizontal _ No _ No _ (Smuggling Jonny)

For anyone who is having trouble with their Playstation 2, I have some advice. You may already know this but if you start the PS2 up with no disc you can go into all the settings and alter the way the PS2 runs, Disc Speed etc have a reallybig effect on the way it works and this could also stop your disc scratching problems! PSOne titles run better with the standard setting apparantly, but you'll have to find out for yourself!

Hope This Helps

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! You couldn't be more wrong! HAHAHAHAHA!!

The latest date given by the officials is December 2001!

And there's also been talk about releasing it earlier!

Mine is vertical and without stand - where can you get a stand from? It collects dust like nobody's business, but has never fallen over, is about 3 times quiter than Dreamcast and doesn't scratch discs in my experience.

I still cannot believe how difficult SSX is!

Mine's vertical, as it looks nicer.

Also, I don't have the stand, and it's never fallen over.
