I play snooker occasionally with a few friends.

But, I don't actually know all the rules.

Never really had a problem until today, when I potted 2 reds in the one go. Do I get 2 points, or just 1?

Also, when the white goes down and you need to start again from the D, can you hit up the way or just down the way?

I'd appreciate if anyone who knew the answers could tell me.

True, I was more than a little suspicious myself.

On the other hand though, thing to remember is that when two beginners play, one of them will often smack the cueball into the reds and leave the other plaayer with an easy big break. If these eighty-odd breaks all came against half-skilled opponents who don't leave the table open like that, then I'm amazed.

Otherwise, it's perhaps not beyond the realms of believability that this many people will have done it.

I spent £120 on a cue and case.

I had a choice of the one I bought, which was machine made, or paying an extra £70 and having a hand made one.

Cool. Well pool is fun, and quicker. But Bertie prefers his snooker, plus I like it too. Played it quite a lot recently and so joined the snooker club. Might even buy a cue, but that would be really sad. Next I would end up with a waistcoat.

Have a mate in the states. Really wealthy. His house has a mezzanine balcony with his full size hand made custom pool table. 12 x 6 or whatever, mahogany and burgundy cloth. Oh and each pool ball costs over £60.

When I said mate, I meant most-hated-person-ever.

I should perhaps say that my 108 was on a half size table. On a full size I have made a 50. I haven't played in ages, I have been playing a lot more pool. I won £20 the other day.

You never know, I doubt it too, but I watched a beginner clear the table once. In the one break.

ah there is a fine smell of BS in this thread.

One or two of you maybe very good players and may be telling the truth, most of you however are quite blatantly lying. I know a couple of very good players who's top breaks are nowhere near that high and they play a couple of hours a day.

for example i'm not really convinced by th 14-15 year old with a break in the mid eighties!

I played snooker a couple days ago for the first time since I was ten. The frame took 45 minutes and finished 38-37 to me.

Not exactly the highest quality game ever played :)

My highest break was eight.

Played it when I was on holiday a few years ago, and became a fan. Main advantage over snooker is that it's quicker to play.

And you can play for cash more easily. :)

Yeah i like a good game of pool, normally with my bro or dad. Have one of those pool tables you get in pubs, a great laugh.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.

Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
