I told you so about 2 months ago but did you listen? Oh no.
"It'll just be Tarantino again" "Kung-Fu is so '01" etc etc.
I own all you predictable sheeple.
I will not look. No.
I imagine that if you went to see Kill Bill thinking it was going to be rubbish, you wouldn't enjoy it. You have to be hyped about it, otherwise you just won't understand.
It's February that Vol. 2 is released, isn't it?
(SPOILER)
The Bride's name is Beatrix Kiddo. It says on the plane ticket, which you can see in the trailer. Although I suppose that might also be a fake. But Bill does call her 'kiddo' at the very beginning and it's spelt with a capital K in the script. And the little exchange between the Bride and O-Ren? "Silly rabbit... Trix are for kids." Trix are a breakfast cereal, but it's apparently a little thing they had with each other when they were back in the DiVAS.
Yeah... I wanna see it again.
I'm going to have to go back to Empire magazine and reread all of the interviews amnd stuff on the movie again...

Heh, I thought that too. Apparently it was used in Japan in various kung fu shows and movies to portray 'alarm' and so forth. Tarantino said the first time he watched a kung fu movie and the Ironside theme tune came on, he laughed his ass off, so he included it here.
Cool things I'm only just realising now (mild spoilers):
On the plane to Okinawa, every seat has a samurai sword holder. Why? "Because this movie isn't set in the real world, it's set in the movie world." Fair enough.
The 'coloured organ player' shot dead in the church massacre is apparently Samuel L Jackson.
The guy who torches O-Ren's parents' house in the anime is apparently Bill, or so it's been said. Note the rings on his finger and his sword, which you can see in the few cuts of Bill in the movie.
The black suits of the Crazy 88, lifted directly from Reservoir Dogs.
The Red Apples poster in the airport.
The cop in the church massacre is the same actor who plays the cop that's killed in Dusk Til Dawn at the beginning, not sure if it's the same character.
I really want to watch this movie again. The soundtrack is excellent too.
It's one of those films that the more you think about it, the more you like it. The use of sound and music (when she comes face to face with key people, the sound is perfect), the liitle in jokes and witty dialouge (You look like...Charlie Brown) were great and in general it was Kill Bill-elicious!
An amazing film to see at the cinema. Pretty much the whole room jumped towards the beginning. We all knew what was coming, but still we leapt. And the occasionaly "ooooh f**k!" etc from the audience was great too.
I think we need a spoiler thread so we can disscuss the film better.
Oh.

I don't think the black and white was for censoring purposes, was it? You mean duting the Crazy 88 fight? I think that's just Tarantino flexing his directorial muscle.
