Apart from gain a few trophies, Houllier has done few good things for Liverpool. The only good thing he's done in my view, apart from the obvious, is acknowlege the English Premiership as the best league in the world! :D

(This was in the Times Football Handbook Monthly or whatever its called ages ago)

I think if anyone else held the reins over that team, they'd be a consistently top two team.

But Jeraaad OOliyey is in charge, ergo they are underachieving.

Apparently, "Bruno" (Heh - his nickname's now more appropriate than ever!) appeared to have lost some weight prior to the England game, looking at his appearence against the last time he played an international game - Could that be what's made the difference?

Still, if you ask me, he's still not up to the challenge of sustaining a regular place in the England starting-XI. He cannot do it at club-level anymore (and I blame Gerard Houllier for that!), so how can he be expected to do any-better at a greater stage??

During his Leicester days, he was looking set to become one of England's greatest assets in the years to come... But here we are, and all he appears to be now is over-weight and clumsy!
Sure, he scored some goals when he first signed for Liverpool, but I just don't see what Houllier - or anyone - has done to really try and help him get back on his feet.

I still think he COULD become a quality striker for our country, but I just don't see it happening at Liverpool... Not with Gerard Houllier in-charge, anyway.

Honestly, Liverpool have a potentially-great sqaud of players; one that I don't see as being all that much less than what Arsénal have.
Michael Owen, Steven Gerard, Harry Kewell... These names and more are the ones that all the big-names want; and yet, look exactly where Liverpool are today! ...It really makes no sense!!

Steve Watson is a remarkable player. One of the few defensive midfielders to have scored a hattrick this season. :D

I agree, people see Heskey have 1 very bad season, and then they never see him when he works his socks off and plays quality football.

Actually Heskey was the man last night, some people are too ignorant to see exactly what job he does on the pitch though.

With Owen out for a bit this could be his chance...go Heskey. :P

It's still 'the beautiful game', though.

Not surprisingly, Pele coined that phrase.

If football is a fair game - why do we have so much cheating, players acting like thugs, poor refs costing teams points, Agents breaching rules, Football Clubs involved in dodgy transfer's, Players doing drugs and raping women and so on in our 'fair game?'

Football will never be a fair game because of the internal and external factors associated with it.
