Just up the road from my training centre, (yes, I now own it…I own you too), is a Peugeot car plant. On a few of the many trucks that transport car pieces to the plant immigrants attempt to smuggle themselves in. one day, not so long ago, the police stopped one such truck and three immigrants ran out of the back. The officers followed in their car, (can’t run when you’re carrying a fairly paunchy paunch). The immigrants in an attempt to lose the officers ran into what they though was a private housing estate, rounded a corner, only to be confronted by 150 officers on parade.

If I was found round at a mates house while they were all smoking weed, I'd be in deep trouble. Also, you cannot turn a blind eye to crimes simply because you aren't on duty at the time. This means your job is in effect a 24hr one. Not my cup of tea, really.
Is it true to say that coppers only friends are other coppers? That's the impression I get, and it seems a shame.
