I don't feel lucky getting The Matrix Reloaded a day early. I mean I saw it twice at the cinema but both times just thought it was well tats and now I have it on DVD my opiion hasn't changed. I mean the film has some beautifuly coreographed scenes and spectacular graphics but that's it...The plot and script is well, terrible to be frank. For the first half of the film it just drags on and on progressing the obvious romance between Neo and Trinity although seeing Keanu Reeves pasty white a$z just isn't nice. After that there are a variety of insignifficant characters who give lots of information in a small amount of time but just to be killed in glorified fight scenes. None of the characters have any depth at all.

The first Matrix movie was entirely revolutionary with a brilliant script with a deep and thought provoking plot. No film could really measure up to it but especially not The Matrix Reloaded. I mean I would give it 1 star for the plot, 1 star for special effects and leave it at that. Ofcourse everyone went to see it because it was the sequal to The Matrix so just for being the sequal to that film it deserves another star. So in the end I'd give it a 3 star rating although it really only deserves 2 stars. It would be ripped apart as a stand alone film, just lucky it was a sequal to that 5 star wonder.

It's more to do with licensing, finding distributors and someone to license anime films for release in the UK had, until recently, been akin to winning the national lottery, but harder.

Well they've allready got the fully translated version on 2 Disc DVD set in America even though that involves changing the coding to work on region 1 DVDs. Surely it would be easier just to take the fully translated version and put it on the same DVDs they use no?:(

And as to answer your question, they probably had to translate all DVD menus and add subtitles on.

You are correct. My mistake, I was thinking of Hong Kong.
