Because it's basic and doesn't have the graphics expected for a next-gen handheld. That and the multiplayer lets you pick any car, giving some people an unfair advantage if they choose the fastest.

Everyone I know that's played it so far has liked it. If you don't want a lot of depth, but you're looking for a fast racer with a nice range of cars and a good multiplayer, it's a pretty good game...

How'd it manage such harsh reviews?

Yes. I love that game, despite some faults it's still very playable. Just like a basic arcade racer really...

...and cop chase mode is just like Chase HQ...

Was that a wise move?

That's why I already traded it for Asphalt on DS...

Yoshi's U.G arrived today and I can safely say im glad I didnt pay any money for it. Quite poor considering N's usual platforming standards. Verrry repetitive.

And what a flippin' stupid name. Universal Gravitation?

The short of it..
I would rather rub my bum with a brick than pay any amount of cash for this game.
