"Can Windows XP be installed on a Windows 98 PC?"

A simple question, I want to install XP on a computer that has 98, can I just stick in the disk and install, or do I have to format the hard drive?

Exactly the same as my older comp.

It runs XP fine, so you should be ok.

512mb of Ram
1.1Ghz AMD Athlon Processor
20gb hard drive.

By hardware we mean what speed is your processor, how large is your Hard drive and how much ram do you have?

If all of these specifications meet the minimum specifications for Windows XP then it will work.

If your XP cd is an upgrade cd then you can install over the top of 98, but if it is a full version you will have to format the hard drive.

Ok, I'll tell you all the hardware I know. How will this help though?

HP Deskjet 930C, I know this doesn't work wih XP but I have another printer which does.

Erm, I'm not too sure about the other hardware. It all works with XP though because it works with my other computer.
