Today I read some really wonderful news. Lost Boys, who are making "Knights" and "Call of the Dragonfly", are using the Moscow Symphony Orchestra to record music for the games.

I am happy from this news, because I believe the Moscow Orchestra are simply the finest there is... perhaps the London Symphony are at their standard too mind.

(Onwards.)

Yes.

Music in games. I know I've asked this before... but I'm very fond of music in games, and I want to know what game you personnaly believe has the best soundtrack.

Of recent times... probably Shenmue. Really epic music... suits the game, as far as I can see, beautifully.

I like the music in Tony Hawks, the first one. I also like the Wipeout music, but I feel you can only appreciate it when on an acid trip[.

Despite the game being not all that good, the mood music in Tomb Raider:TLR is very well put together.

It's not really worth buying the game itself for, but at least it adds to the atmosphere and builds up a certain amount of tension to stop you falling asleep!

I think game music is great when you get orchestras involved, to give a great example, there is a scene in conker where you are about to square off with a BIG lava ball throwing fire-monster and you have some thing like Vivaldi's Presto from his Summer concerto, and the cmera goes to Conker and he says

"Hey maestro, don't you think that is a bit dramatic?!"

And then all of a sudden Conker turns his head and this Jazzy Piano song plays as Conker fights this guy, it is great and it just goes to show that developers can contribute more and more to games through music, I mean this was soooo funny, and you have got to download it but you see my point right, music is a big factor in games too, almost as much as colours or the size of the chatachters!

No I haven't, I think I'll have a look for an orchestrated version on Napster.

I like the version by 'System of a down'

It's a kind of rock version
