I am just about to fill out my provisional license form and there's a question on here which people say you should 'think carefully about'.

Why should you think carefully about donating any of your organs once you die? What would it matter? You'll be dead, won't feel any pain and will be helping somebody else in the world.
Of course though, your family might disagree with it completely and will be mad at the fact that doctors are taking you apart. But, at least you could be saving another life.

Have any of you lot got a donor card or something like that?
Are you giving any organs once you die?

There's a choice of:

- Any part of the body
- Heart
- Kidney
- Liver
- Lungs
- Corneas
- Pancreas

If you haven't already thought about this, then pick something out of that list that you would donate when you die.. if you would.
I'm interested to know what people think about donating organs!

I've got all the boxes ticked on my donor card. It's not as if I'll need any of my organs once I'm dead.

It makes perfect sense to give someone living the chance of a better life. Everyone has the capacity to save or better another's life. It's tragic that so many don't bother making it clear that they want to donate, or as my friend did, give the excuse that she "doesn't like the idea of being cut up". What bloody difference does it make, you're dead!!

I wouldn't give them away. Sure, you could be giving them away to someone that is in dire need of them and may make a positive impact in life, or they could go to a deranged physchotic who ends up slaughtering everyone on High Street with an AK47 and a pocket full of shells.

I'd donate it all, as long as it is to make someone better, i'm not gonna need them.

Nah, my organs would probably be stolen by those evil immigrants. First they steal our houses and our jobs, now they're after our organs!!

Kill them all!!

I have a card and have ticked the "Take what you need" box.

Make sure you inform your nearest and dearest as to your wishes because a donor card or a license may get lost.

Yes, I have a donor card. Once I am dead I will have no need of anything. The only trouble is by the time I've finished with it there will not be much worth taking.

I think I'd give mine up. I'd want them to go to helping someone live instead of medical research as then they'd be having a more active use. Then I could also take over that part of the body a la Liquid snake in MGS2.
