Um yeah that's about it. I run Windows ME and want a task manager more like the XP and Win 2k ones. I know there are a few third party ones out there to download, just wondered if anyone could recommend one.

I'm not questioning it's ability to run older hardware. However unless I was to upgrade the RAM and preferably have a faster processor it would run rather slowly. Not to mention the fact that it would also cost somewhere in the region of £80 to upgrade.

My XP recognised a modem that's so old you can't even get manufacturer's drivers for it any more...

XP will suffer noticable slowdown will it? On what grounds? You must obviously be an operating system expert if you can find a good reason to advocate ME over XP.

No, but because the hardware isn't that new. It runs ME fine, but SP will suffer slowdown on it. Also it took forever to set up some of the fancier software on the machine and I don't fancy having to sort out all the issues it had the first time around again.
