Anyone getting this? It's looking very good indeed and it's just gone gold. Rumour has it that there will be a demo on the 10th or around then with the game being released on the 24th. I must admit I had my doubts as to whether or not this will come out in June but thankfully it is. I haven't read or seen much about this until now because I was trying not to get into all of the hype. Looks like a must have by the looks of it.

Some useful info

Battlefield went gold on June 1st 2005 and will be released on the 24th of June.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A MEMBER.

The Gamespot demo will be available to all - Registered, Non-Registered and 'Complete' users. Also, there may well be a mirror on the www.battlefield2.com site.

Have faith, younglings.

I shall acquire the demo early hopefully, we all know limited demos and exclusive releases don't work.

The demo looks like being a 24 hr exclusive for Gamespot before everyone else gets it. Shame I'm not a member.

Christ just installed another 512mb of RAM (256x2) and it's wasn't booting till I read my "wonderful" Dell Manual which said I have to put my usual RAM in the first 2 slots and my new ones in the other 2, now that's nothing big but why on earth can't I just mix them together when they are all made by Crucial?!

According to the IGN FAQ (which I will put in the original post) says the demo is out on the 10th which is this friday, it will contain one map but they don't know when it will be out on friday. Looks like it'll be Sat here.

Bad news for me, you have to have a GFX5700+. I'm on GFX5200 - in a laptop, so I can't replace it, I don't think. I can up the RAM to a gig, but that's no help.

Will still check out the demo, but it'll probably stop me before it gets anywhere, like a pikey trying to get into Stringfellows.

- Maps scale to the number of players engaging in battle for a unique and intense experience every time.

Shame it's not dynamically driven as it was originally supposed to be. Server Admins can set the map size to what ever they want and doesn;t really need to be based on players.

I can see our server using the smallets possible setting with 64 players!;) Total chaos.

Out of interest, anyone know if they're releaseing a dedicated server manager or are we still going to be dogged with Blackbag Opps pile'o'pants?
