Nintendo launch the system next year. Launch games include Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Brothers 3.
Online enabled.
DVD enabled.
Can download Nintendo's full back catalogue.
System is small and stylish.
Not as powerful as the rivals but still looks top notch (apparently).
Revolutionary controller yet to be unveiled.
New Mario, Animal Crossing and Zelda and a brand new franchise all in the works.

Who cares about DVD, I have a DVD player and a computer that plays DVDs. Not important.
But not everyone has a DVD player.
I have PC and Xbox, but I find my Xbox plays some DVDs with poor framerate, and my PC...well I can't be bothered to buy decent speakers for it, and the screen is small (compared to TV)

The majority of people do. It's a games machine, not a DVD player.
