... so my car insurance renewal comes through the post; I open it and find that it's £458 this year. £458! That's up over £60 from last year and I haven't had an accident or made a claim for the last 8 years! I ring them up (Axa) and ask them why it's gone up and they give me some rubbish about increased costs etc. so I tell them "Thanks, but no thanks."

I then get quotes from several other insurers, the average price being about £350 until I get to More Than - their price was £202! I checked and double checked the quote and it was right so I protected my no claim's bonus for life, too, and got insured - fully comprehensive - for £220!

I'm a happy bunny.

Haha!

I wish I could get hold of a transcript of that call.

I'm in charge of all voice recording processes where I work as well. Some of the arguments I hear are legendary.

Good luck to training on that call.
I was beyond disbelief, he just kept saying "Bigger engine size"
"Than what?"
"Bigger engine size"
"I understand, but bigger than what? The Moon?"
"It's bigger"
"Stop saying that"
"It's bigger"

I swear, I'm trapped in an insane, X-rated Truman Show.

They record these calls you know. I'm laughing just thinking about a bespectacled fool trying to train a dunce in customer services on the basis of that phone call!

About 10 years ago I was with Touchline and my stereo got nicked which cost them £200 to replace (it was £300 including my excess). When my renewal came a while later it had risen by £205 from the previous year! Their excuse? "Because your stereo was stolen and the thief wasn't caught there's no-one to claim against so we treat it as your fault."

W**kers.
