my number 2 when pressed with shift is my @ sign and my @ sign is whats supposed to be on my number 2 any ideas

Your keyboard is set to US layout. Go to Start->Control Panel->Keyboard->Language Tab. Click Add, and find English (British) in the list. Add that as layout, set it as default, and remove the US layout.
