Mail on Sunday. My mum's paper - god knows she's an intelligent woman so why she reads that is beyond me.
Aaaaanyhooo...

Reading it yesterday, and apart from the front-page story ("Brown people are racist too!!!!!"), there was an article that sums up exactly why I love/loathe this reactionary, inflammatory ode to uptight WASP-ishness.

"Is this the sickest tv show ever?"
All about Man vs Beast.
NOT that programme I wanted to see made where kickboxers fight polar bears etc, but where a man tries to outrun a giraffe/outeat a Kodiak bear...you get the idea.
And our beloved Mail basically blah blah'd for a whole page about it being "immoral" and "sick". Fair enough, typical biased reporting from this rag.

But what made it for me, the cherry on the indignant-cake?
"To send letters supporting the banning of this programme, send to the following address...."
They handily gave the outraged blue-rinse, homo-hating, single mum loathing, borderline racist readership a contact address.

And I loved the oh-so-serious 2 page story about Richard Whitely-in-adulterer-shocker. Imagine, our beloved-by-middle-England game-show host actually wanting to sleep with an attractive woman! Whatever next? Teens sleeping with each other, taking drugs and drinking?

Moron paper for people too snobby to buy The Sun but lacking the opposable thumbs to manage the broadsheets comfortably

When I'm the autocratic ruler of Europe, all newspapers will banned or state controlled.

Reminds me of the tv show on Family Guy:

Has this show started yet? It will never be as good as it is in my head - George Bush and a chimpanzee racing to be the first to finish a ten piece jigsaw puzzle - but I must watch it all the same.

It reminds me of a joke I saw on TV:

"Every night, me and my bear play chess."

"He must be a very clever bear."

"Not really, I'm winning 3-1."

A-boom-cha!

The word 'Regime' springs to mind. Possibly a Nazi one.

What is a Kodiak Bear? A bear that takes photos?

I must agree whole-heartedly with you at the utter crap the media comes out with. If they had their way we would reform into a Nazi dictatorship. Newspapers like that ARE propaganda and the editor is some diluted version of hitler.

But if we invited every species along then us humans would never win any medals.

Urgh.

This is one of the reasons why I find reading the Sun is better.

Yes its written for a 12 year old reading-age but it puts the point across well and has non of this "Oh look someone sprayed his tag on a wall - WRITE IN TO JAIL HIM" balls.

I think the Daily Mail editor has a case of Autism. He likes things in routines/ Anything controversial or out of place must be opposed against.

Its a disease of a newspaper - Once people read and and agree with it....

I don't understand. Maybe I'm missing something but what's wrong with man pitting his wits against animals?

If it involved cruelty to animals it would be wrong, obviously.
