I mean the music made specially for the film, not songs on general release in the charts or otherwise by pop/rock/whatever artists.

Some to consider :

Predator 1 + 2 - Alan Silvestri I think did this, extremely atmospheric and fits perfectly with the action.

Terminator 2 - Superb soundtrack, adds to the whole atmosphere and sounds great cranked up to the max

Lock Stock - A lot of the music on this film is by famous artists, but the bits that aren't included on the soundtrack CD are very good

Escape from new York - Old skool film. John Carpenter films always have superb music, very much in the style that was common at the time (early 80s) Also, 'the thing' had some incredibly eerie music.

Aliens - nuff said, great stuff

The score is the music composed and presented by Howard Shore. May It Be and Gollums Song are accompanying songs.

Interestingly enough, they did try and get Bjork to do Gollums Song. But when she couldn't do it, they asked her to choose someone who sounded like her - so she chose Torrini.

Braveheart theme is good, its all classical by James Horner but gels immaculately with the film.

Queen of the Damned has a good metal music soundtrack but then again the film is utter rubbish.

Fight Club has a pretty good soundtrack by The Dust Brothers and a few other guest tracks.

The American Pie movies have great soundtracks, I dont know a song on any of the three movies that I dont like!

I dont think I could pick a favourite though. Lets just say all of the above!

Uh huh.

Excellent!

And at the end - "Mad World" fitted *perfectly* with the film. Impressive.

There will always be a place in my heart for may it be, but Emiliana Torrini's Bjorkish sound just encaspulates the mood perfectly for me.

Yeah, both of those are great.

Gollums Song isn't part of the score. But while we're on the subject, Enya's May It Be from Fellowship is far better than Torrini's (sp?) Gollums Song.

Riders of Rohan was the best new track, true. But it doesn't apporach The Birdge Of Khazad-Dum or The Council of Elrond.
