I was actually looking forward to this programme. Matt Lucas and David Walliams can be hilarious when they need to be (Rock Profiles, Shooting Stars, Spaced, etc...), but their new show, Little Britain, was more or less a montage of the more average sketches by the League of Gentlemen, Steve Coogan and other BBC2 "alt. comedies". They even nicked bits from Adam and Joe (I suppose it's alright now that they're signed to the Beeb). The "Fat Fighters" club character WAS Pauline from LofG. And the sketch about black and white minstrels was lifted straight from Operation Good Guys. No wonder it's on BBC3.

No one's mentioned Pheonix Nights (unless we are talking about BBC comedy only)

Its a brilliant comedy full of subtle jokes and the full on jokes.

Brilliantly written by Peter Kay and Dave Spikey.

At least Billy Connoly was on last night.

I was bent double (from the laughing) on more than one occasion.

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps is written by a woman. Women don't write funny comedy, they write spoofs, which is easy to do. Ab Fab for example is a spoof of the fashioon industry, a one trick pony, in fact all French and Saunders stuff is spoof. That new comedy for BBC3 being advertised, that had those black women on, seems to be the worst show ever created. They must have picked the "funniest clip" in order to launch the show and my word it was pants. There wasn't any humour.

I've got to get my comedy done (working title Temp Nation), there's easy money to be made from the chumps at the BBC.

It was on BBC3 the first time as well. My previous post sounded a bit scathing, it wasn't intended.
