At uni we use JAVA as the main language and that is what is concentrated on by classes. I've done a little C programming too in my few years doing computer science but have always been interested in learning C++ on my own and trying to improve on what I have learned and already know.

So does anyone else here know C++ or is going to learn it. Just wanted any advice as to what book etc would be very helpful and make learning it easier.
Thanks

And they're all free too. Problem is, I always find books to be more helpful since they're eradily available in front of you when you need it, and not behind some windows. They're also more interesting to read in bed (although much of the stuff goes through my head at night).

Unless you have a second monitor that can run simultaneously, best buy books.

Just go to google and type "C++ tutorials and examples" and you'll get loads of results.

Any chance you could list the sites that helped you most Monkey_Man?

I've been thinking about what I want to do when I leave uni next year and think that learning something else could be quite helpful.

Thanks

Yeah, I know a fair bit about C++. What do you need to know? There are plenty of internet support sites that have sample code and stuff.

I know C++, I own a few books but I don't know if I'd particularly recommend any of them :OS The SAMS Learn C++ in 21 days is pretty reasonable, but someone else might have a better suggestion.
