At uni we use JAVA as the main language and that is what is concentrated on by classes. I've done a little C programming too in my few years doing computer science but have always been interested in learning C++ on my own and trying to improve on what I have learned and already know.

So does anyone else here know C++ or is going to learn it. Just wanted any advice as to what book etc would be very helpful and make learning it easier.
Thanks

Thanks Twain. Got the file yesterday and had a quick look through.
Looks like it has most of the stuff you need to get started.
Just need to find the time to sit and read through it.

Cheers

Ok, due to stupid restrictions at school, I'll have to send ti to you from my home addy. I won't reveal that addy on here, but when you get it, the username will be very odd (named for my dads greengrocer shop) but I will tell you that it is from me in the subject and message body, ok?

I'll try tomorrow.

I'll send it to you from my Hotmail addy:
[email protected]

I cannot use Hotmail at home, so I'll send it from school, ok? That'll be sometime tomorrow with any luck. I have already zipped the files together and the zip file is 717k.

I have an E-book on my PC which I am hoping to read someday to learn C++. It's called "Learn C++ in 21 days"

Basically, you read one section every day and if you do it right you learn it in three weeks.

The file is also very small beause it's basically a load of HTML pages. All I need to do is zip it up in .\ip or .rar format and I can send it to you if you want?

But I'll need your addy!

I was gonna say try Visual Basic - Cause it rocks.

But hey - If you've got knowledge of C then it's plausible your moving onto C++.

*hugs VB*

I'm reading my way through "Maximum Linux Security" at the moment which I leave lying around the house, my housemates must think I'm such a nerd :O/

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.

Nothing but admiration. I have been complimented on the church site that I manage through you and everybody thinks I am an IT genius. Your support is unquestionably outstanding.
