Just received Hard Boiled on DVD from CD-WOW (region Free supposedly) and when I slapped it in my Xbox guess what? A damn CD read error! Anyway I have forked out for a new DVD player despite getting reassurance from their technical support centre that it would work fine on my Xbox. If it was just one DVD I would probably send it back but I am also expecting a Better Tomorrow and The Killer in the same format and I have wanted a multi region player for ages now.
Anyway, has anyone else got the ARIANET SLIM LINE DVD 2255 MULTI-REGION 5.1 DVD PLAYER?

I have all those films and I can assure you, they don't disappoint.
The Killer is especially good and one of the other ones heralded the begininng of bullet time if I remember correctly.

I tried it on my PS2 and despite having an RGB scart the screen was green which I have read a lot about. I wanted a multi region DVD player anyway because the Xbox is very loud and the PS2 quality is less than satisfying. If they had released Region X as they conned everyone into thinking then I may not have had to shell out so much bloody money at a time when I owe quite a bit. Ah well the DVD player has Optical Output and everything so I will be happy enough. Can't wait to watch the films either as they look sheet hot.

They're idiots. If it's not region 2 then it won't work with the Xbox. I spoke to Goatboy about this and expressed my annoyance that Microsoft haven't realsed a region free disc for it like the PS2.
Belldandy said that the Xbox is region free, until you start using the DVD remote and then it locks to region 2.
Either way, you won't be able to play anything but region 2's on your Xbox.
I got a DVD player from SR a while back and I can assure you it'll work fine with the Arianet one.
