I just a virus a few hours ago. It is in a notepad file. When I try to delete it it just says "cannot delete file ________ . Make sure the file is not write protected or currently in use." Now, how do I get round this problem? (Obviously the file is not in use, as I have closed all applications. Norton Antivirus also cannot get into the file, it just says that access is denied.)
Thanks if you can help.

Right click on it, select Properties. Make sure Read-Only is not checked. Then do CTRL + ALT + DEL to see if any suspicious programs are running in the background that you do not recognise. Close them, then re-scan with NAV

Right mate, the problem is the virus is running in the background even though it may say it isn't.

try ctrl + alt + del and tell me what programmes are running in the background. If the virus is one of them then "end task" and then delete it.

If it isnt running then ill give you something else to try.
