School's back and my little sister has left primary and is now entering real school. It's got me thinking though about how good times were in the early days of school and how many memories and stories I have from that time. I know you all will be full of them too and I think it would be cool to share some of them stories.

I want to start off but my mind has gone blank so I'll contribute at a later time...

Yeah, well I had jogger’s nipple the other day, so…

I had a lifesaving assessment the other day. All the training we had done was in pretty warm water, but for the assessment they turned off the heating, to make it more realistic.

Now that's just plain mean.

When are you actually going for real?

I'lltell you what's insane. Slipping into a wetsuit in air temps of 24 degrees, and then jumping into an outdoor pool at 19 degrees and having the wetsuit delude you into thinking you're actually quite warm while the cold water sucks the life out of you over the following three hours while you learn some scuba skills.

Then the sadistic instructors make you take the wetsuits off while still in the water and make you tread water in the deep end for ten minutes while the cold water induces cramps which would cripple olympians.

The cold, the pain, the humanity...

I remeber being in nusery and being pushed in to a book case for some reason. I still got a tiny scar on my cheek bone. The guy that did it went on to become one of my best friends.

We once went for a walk down in to the old storage rooms of the school that were shut off and pitch black. There were stones and other such clutter. That was fun. We got to take torchs too.

Can't think of any more for now.

Oh yes. Not all year round though, that would be insane. Mega cold when you first got it but then it was pretty fine. Minor point was the small hut we changed in. We did have a nice pool party though at the end of year 6.

Sipping milk on a carpet? Playing with sand and water? Chasing the dog that slipped through the school gate one lunch time? Oh no, it could not have been all bad.

Plus mine had an outdoor swimming pool which was quite radical.
