Manchester United have renegotiated the transfer of David Beckham to Real Madrid so that they receive £11million of the transfer fee in a lump sum.
The Premiership champions were set to receive £12m of the fee in equal instalments over four years, but have wavered £1m of the fee in order to receive it instantly.
Real have already forked out £5m of the £25m fee for the England captain, while the rest of the deal will be dependent on Real's success in the Champions League.

So why would they do this? Perhaps Fergie is thinking of buying someone in the januray transfer window?
> Why would they want Defoe?
Because he is class, he is young and he has played well against Man Utd in the past. If Van N was injured tomorrow would you really want Forlan as your main guy?
He should've done something at that point last season, but didn't.
And even then, we were having a "bad run" of form...
What'll make it any different this time, seeing as we 'SHOULD' be doing much better at that time, this season, after the "improvements" that have been made?
And anyway, our squad looks more-or-less complete, as it is.
Do we really need another striker when Scholes is on-form?
And once this injury "crisis" is over, I doubt there'll be anything wrong with having Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand, Mikael Silvestre and John O'Shea available to play centre-back.
Perhaps Real's financial situation has improved, and now they really can afford to pay-back more of what they owe us?
After all, they're new "Asian Marketing Ploy" seems to be working a treat for them, the world-over!
And when Peter Kenyon's got the chance to make-some-money - he will NOT miss-out (just look at the Veron sale)!
He's probably lining up a bid for Defoe in the January sales too.
