War declared over early May.
Now US asks UN to assist.

"Up your ass UN, we don't need no pasty Eurocrats telling us who we can and cayan't kill"
"Umm...that's not wise US"
"Screw you Eurotrash"
(fast forward to the "ceasation of hostilities")
"Ah, 'scuse us Mr UN, Mr Nice, could you like, gissa hand here? We're getting our butts kicked daily, in fact we've lost more soldiers since the invasion was over than during."
"Um...no"
"C'mon guys, we're not a police force! We kill people, we don't keep the peace"
"Um...no"
"Aww, but Mu-umm!"
"Nope, I told you not to do it, it's you own fault now go and apologise"
"...sowwy Mista 'Raq, I'll clean your floor for a week"

Anyway, obviously I'm just taking the proverbial there. Mainly because GB's original point concerning how the US were scathing of the UN, and are now desperately trying to get them involved. How does the UN wanting to take full control of the rebuilding of Iraq detract in any way from the fact that the US are having to come cap in hand in order to beg the UN to rescue them from the mess they've made?
In other words, that quote doesn't put any kind of different perspective on it. It just adds to what GB was originally saying. Unless I've misunderstood what you're trying to say, in which case I'd be grateful if you'd clarify what you said.
"No, we won't clear up your mess. If you want our help, then you do what we requested originally and involve the UN in all aspects"
That quote from the news kind of puts a different perspective on it.
Just something else to add to America's growing pile of filth under the rug.

Certainly greed.
But does the fact that US/UK actively fought give them a 'right' to now screw all the money they can out of Iraq ?
I don't think it does. And surely anyone who disagrees has to acknowledge the supporting the element of 'conquest' in the war ?
By all means, they're self serving and greedy. It's just that we are too.
"Will you join America and Britain in their Iraq campaign?"
"Non! They are stupid and we want nothing to do with the war"
Some time later
"Well Europe we've got some contracts available for you in Iraq to help rebuild the infrastructure, assuming that the Americans and British don't want them".
"Sacre bleau! How can this be? We want first choice of these contracts and although we didn't spend a single Euro on the war or loose a single person in the conflict we demand that we are given them".
It is rank hypocrisy, and I wish America's apologists would stop torturing facts and the English language to say otherwise. I love America, but surely if one loves something then one should acknowledge it's faults? Otherwise, one just displays blind and unthinking faith.
