"A manager of a Funcoland stated they were required to remove all X-Box pre-orders because Sony called and e-mailed to threaten PS2 hardware and software shipments will be shorted to the store if the store does not remove all pre-orders and marketing materials for X-Box and GameCube."
Software Etc and Babbages in America, also confirm this, and actually getting visited by Sony reps to make sure that they have actually conformed to their demands!
This is simple bullying. Sony are obviously very scared of the effect of these two consoles on them, and basically blackmailing stores into doing this sort of thing is disgusting.
Expect more news to follow during the next few weeks.
And to the guy who made the comment about microsoft being the bully,if it weren't for windows this site and all the others you visit wouldn't exist!Windows unified computer OS.
And someone had to do it.get over it ps2 lover!
Anyway, the way shops see it is that Microsoft will have their own adverts and stuff for the Xbox. Thus, they do not deter people from buying a PS2 (if they can get them!) because something "better" is coming out.
Still, it's against the law...Sony just haven't said anything officially.
SonicRav
just leaves everyone free to buy a gamecube.
no, wait, sony are trying to stop that aswell. damn. my argument goes down the drain. im gonna stick to eating nestle chocolate. no. wait... i cant do that either... damn. im sticking to music.
If Bill Gates hears of this he will send his alien soacecraft round to Sony's rep's HQ and take them away (probably to the Xbox marketing place)...
Ahem.
PSO is absolutely fantastic thank you!

1992, High Street, Crawley, W. Sussex.
It was happening all over the country at that time.
The press labelled it 'The Chocolate Wars'.
My thoughts after posting the main topic...
And I know a lot of companies do this as well... but sharing the blame is not a way of taking the ease off Sony.

Couldn't agree more.

We have a Pepsi can dispenser at work, and the vending company are unable to put Coke in it, despite the fact that it does carry other products of the Coca Cola Company, such as Fanta.
