As this is coming from the man who came out with;

- "It was just a test"

- If you're anti war, you may as well be a communist

- The Anti-war marchers are comparable to the BNP

- The Anti-War marchers are pro Saddam

- There is no problem with Donald Rumsfeld authorising sale of Nuclear Reactors to North Korea.

- No-one cares about Zimbabwe except a few African leaders

- Kapos had nothing to do with nazi's

And many, many more (available on Belldandy's Greatest Hits vol.1, can be found in all good Neo-Con Chest Beating outlets now), you'll pardon me for finding that statement risible.

Anyway, that's all I really have to say on this one; Goatboy seems to be doing a good enough job of arguing you to a standstill on this one.

I do have one question; what do you have against Blank? I ask, because every time he makes a post that is CLEARLY a joke, you take it 100% seriously and end up looking rather priggish.

Which is why I didn't say it was, and I repeat that it was a joke.

But they gain MORE from no actual war happening. Why ? Countries only have so much to spend, and mobilising to a war costs money, hence less to spend. Sure, munitions and equipment need replacing, but the big money now is in R+D which takes years. Ultimately most weapons are aimed at deterrance rather than war.

You make something like the F22 Raptor and suddenly any tin pot nation with a few Mig 29's knows those planes will not get within firing range. Not surprisingly, just about every nation in the world gets arms, and not all of them come from the West, so acting like every war going is fuelled by the arms trade, whilst very James Bond, is not really true.

And once again, Belldandy fails to get the joke.

Oh, and there are certain people who love war. Munitions manufacturers, for one. People who'll stand to gain from it. Although I wasn't actually referring to these people in my post, because IT WAS A JOKE!

As usual Blank, you succeed in making yourself look stupid by just making things up. No one loves war, if you believe that then you are warped.

Yes, but during the enquiry numerous people have testified regarding the dossiers and intelligence because that is pertinent to the enquiry, as Kelly's death stems from the claims made by Gilligan, which resulted in the FASC hearing, which apparently led to Kelly's exposure to the media, and his suicide. The authenticity of the material is a key part of the enquiry, because if the Hutton Enquiry finds that there is no evidence to suggest a sexing up of the dossier, it cals into question why Gilligan said his srouce, Kelly, claimed there was, and how accurately Gilligan quoted Kelly, if at all...

Zimbabwe - it remains the case that very few African leaders denounce Mugabe, yet I still believe action needs to be taken, but until more denounce him and ask for help then I don't see any chance.

Out of a million people?
I dont know. But neither do you.

And I'm not, as originally stated, going to spend hours arguing about whether we should or shouldn't have.
I believe we had no business being there.
Others believe we did.
It's happened, it's now about holding people accountable should it turn out we were lied to.

My reason for getting into another pi##ing contest with Bell is that his original post dismissed the anti-war movement by saying they were all communists (3 posts down).
It's now gone from anti-war meaning being a member of the Stop The War Coalition - which is not true for every single person that has expressed dissention at this invasion.
Whereas before and during the war, and I can pop the threads, being anti-war meant being pro-Saddam.

All the while, the concerns raised before the invasion are being reiterated loudly and met with no response.
Where are these WOMD?
Why hasn't anything been produced to justify the invasion?
And you cannot use the "Liberation of the people" excuse, because that was not a reason offered for invading until afterwards, when the scarcity of WOMD began to create concern amongst not just commie Saddam sympathisers, but a whole lot of other people.
