Firstly, is that any good?
Y'see, I have no idea when it comes to graphics card's.
Could you recommend any?
For instance, do any of you have a high quality GFX cards that you'd recommend?
Danke.

Up until June 21st I had a PC with a GeForce 2 MX200 in so that was worst.
What you should do is try and find a site that reviews both the FX5600 and the 9600 Pro and see what differences there are when running games.
Have a look at this review and test between the 9600 Pro and a FX5600 ULTRA http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTAyLDEw. I think the 5600 ULTRA is more money. Go to www.microdirect.co.uk and have a look at the Gainward section of GeForce cards. You can pick up a 5600 ULTRA 256mb at just over £128 inc VAT. They do more expensive version that use better RAM as well.
SR are doing a pretty good deal on the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 cards. There pretty good in performance but lack Direct X 9. My friend has one and on a 768mb RAM XP2000 he gets 8000 odd 3DMark 2001 points.
I think a 9600 Pro would probably be the best choice. As that link shows it does come out top on alot of the tests, it has Direct X 9 and seems a good all round performer.
Now, don't laugh.
GeForce 2 MMX 400.

You can clearly see why I want to upgrade.

I'm willing to pay around 100 or just over quid.
£123 sounds good, I'll have a look at that ATi Radeon 9600 Pro.
What's generally better?
The aforementioned, or the GforceFX5600?
Cheers.

Seems a good price for a good card.
Azul you still havent said what your current card is. No point in upgrading if you have a Geforce 4 Ti or even a Geforce 3 Ti, if you only going to spend £120 on a new one.
It depends entirely what price you're willing to pay...
good price at £121

Yeah exactly. You can get a FX5200 256mb card but it wont run nothing as its chipset is utter rubbish. Its cheap if you havent got much money, but your only going to just about run pong on it.
About Doom 3 you will actually need to use main RAM. I found out by reading about AGP memory size(the setting in the bios of your motherboard). Apparently the onboard RAM isnt used for all aspects of the graphics and main system RAM is also used at the same time to store textures or something, while the graphics RAM is used for other tasks. I can't remember where I read it but do a search on AGP and you should dig out some more information.
What is your current graphics card? As if its say a old Geforce 3 Ti or even one of the Geforce 4 Ti's then you really wouldnt need to upgrade or if you did you would want a 9800Pro or even a FX5900.
I found it twice, and both times with a tag of 148 quid.
Too much I'm afraid.
However, I've found a non-pro version at a considerably cheaper price.
