I did have an interesting experience in my life-saving lesson.
I nearly drowned the guy I was saving and myself!
Having swam out to the guy, who was unconscious, I turned him over and started to tow him back to the side. However, we have to do this in a long sleeve top, shorts and long trousers over the top. About 3 metres into a 20-metre swim, the elastic on my trousers broke. They promptly settled around my ankles, so I could no longer kick. Have you ever tried to drag yourself and another person 17 metres with only 1 arm?
