I thought about this myself and there are things I'd probably be tempted to change, things that made my life miserable at the time, but then I thought more and realised that these things, however bad, helped shape me into the person I am today. Sometimes a really bad incident or time in your life can produce positive results. However, sometimes you just wonder what it would be like to take a different course. Would a previous love have worked out if you had made different decisions? Would that fight you walked away from be any different if you had faced up to it? Would you have even survived this long?
Questions, many that cannot be answered, but it's a great way to make yourself realise that you are more than the sum of your experiences.
But still I wonder…What if?

well, clearly. the boy falling off of his bike would break his leg, because gravity pulled him to the floor and he fell in such a position that forces moved until a point where the bone breaks. theres a reason. but it has no deeper meaning.
Partly to do with predetermined destiny, but not exclusively. You don't have to subscribe to the idea of destiny, as this could be something entirely different, just the earth's way of working out what should happen.
ie:
In one reality:
Billy falls of his bike and ends up in hospital for 3 weeks with a broken leg. Just before he comes out he meets a girl called Emily in the next ward and they become friends. They keep in touch and eventually get married.
In the other reality:
Billy does not fall off his bike. Three weeks later his gran is taken in to hospital for a routine operation and he meets a girl called Emily in the ward. They keep in touch and eventually get married.
And in another reality:
Billy doesn't have a bike, he prefers walking. Billy's gran is fine and doesn't need to go to hospital. Years later he bumps in to someone called Emily in the street and realises that he lives down the road from her. They get talking and eventually get married.
Anyone whose parents are around 50-60 years old should remember that their parents were born directly after teh second World War, after every war there is a "Baby Boom" caused by soldier returning from war and getting back together, and having sex, with their partners when they return. Hence, no Second World War, and tons of people don't exist, tons of technology does not exist etc
In 50 years you'll have a great story for the grandkids. How if it wasn't for SR then they wouldn't be around.
Although point well proven.

Here's my example.
A couple of weeks back, I wrote a review for a graphics card on SR, and won GAD for it. It took me two days to decide what to claim, MS Flight Sim 2004 in the end. So because it had taken two days to decide, I received it two days later than I could have. When I received it it took a week to see there was zero playability in it, so I ebayed it, for £40. On a 3 day auction, buyer paid with Paypal, which took 5 days to transfer to me, so yesterday I went to Nottingham to spend it, and saw somebody I hadn't seen since A Levels, and now I'm going to their party next month.
If just one thing had been different, then I'm not in the right place to see that person at that time, and hence don't go to the party, which means at the time, next month, when I'm at the party, I would have been elsewhere.
There's nothing confusing, it's cause and effect.
