Do you have your accommodation stuff yet for uni?
Just wondering since I got mine on Friday and they give me 10 days to send my deposit off, and my student loan only comes through in seven days.

I got my first choice, a catering hall, so I don't have to forage and hunt for my own meals. Except lunch time. I am sure there are pleanty of gazzelles and lions to hunt though.

Too anyone else out there going to uni, did your uni charge you for 'freshers week' because I was charged £17.50 damn it.

They're certainly getting their moneys worth out of you aren't they?

It has built in ethernet, but for connection to the uni network it's another £100. Still, I have to go ahead since my course probably will have its entire contents online.

Especially one that has free WiFi I'm guessing. Or at the very least built in Ethernet, for whole hall games of Half Life.

Yeah, they do actually have this "fresher's timetable" thing going on, so I'll go to theirs instead.

I do hop I get into one of the newer wings.

Official freshers week is a load of balls, Ignore it if your hall is doing its own one, Much better of going out and getting absolutey slaughtered with the people actually in your hall, rather than some crap at the main student bit, If your JCR is any good they'll do somethhing much better for you.

Yes, it was my first choice.
It has a cycle storage park.

Now if only I had a bike.

Fresher's Week seems more like the University's chance to fleece more cash out of people who largely haven't been away from home much before and have their bank accounts newly filled.

Yes I'm a cynic, went to freshers at Birmingham and it was just like that, only stayed 5 days though, then decided on a gap year instead, then a year later went to Nottingham Trent.

Lol. When you say formal I don't think they expect you to wear a suit to every meal, just don't come in after an athletics session is all they were saying. Well I bloody well hope not I don't have any posh clothes.

I was surprised when it said no noise after 11.15 PM but then it is a Victorian hall, it also means peace and quit for when you are doing a 10 week old assignment the day before its due in.

Freshers week sucks ass.

About 100 different clubs jammed into the one area handing out flyers, its a nightmare.
