I didn't care about the security thing, I knew what he'd done, and how he'd done it, and the extent to which both he and Tribute could use it - in short I knew they could do no more than imitate user names.

Tribute's stupid boasting which alarmed some people was annoying, and Hercules vast amount of spamming and general messing around always annoys me. Hence whilst it's a pity a decent person like Tribute suddenly had a moment of madness, it's no great loss otherwise.

"Look, Belldandy, I wanted your addy to send you a one-off e-mail apologising for messing around. I know it was a stupid mistake, i'm sorry if you were alarmed when the security alert was brought up but I wasn't the one who did that and also assured everyone that nobody had any personal details........I'd appreciate it if you could accept my apology and let the whole thing drop."

But why would I care ? And why on earth does he think I'd want him to have my email address ? Apart from the obvious attempt to steal hotmail acccount/send virus/sign up for porn type things , which if he did do would result in a warning post that would make Goatboy's look tame.

Herc says:

I'm just telling you what he's told me on MSN.

Nevertheless, SR looked at the evidence and banned him, it's their site, their law, it was a stupid thing to do in the first place.

They banned Herc because he owned up to doing some of the posting, however, he did apologise but Snuggly thought he did more than what he really did. All I can remember Herc doing is posting jokey comments under peoples names. For example, under mine he said "I like bumsex" or something.

His exploitation of the fault wasn't alarming to other users.

Well SR banned him and Tribute, Snuggly made it quite clear that they were checking the server records and only banning those who deserved it - which happened to be those two.

hercules wasn't actually the one who mentioned hacking. That was Tribute. Hercules only posted in a few topics using the ghost thing, and his comments were mainly jokey. As far as I'm aware, he was also the one who tried to point out that 'no-one has anybody's details'.

What he did wasn't much worse than what DW did, and Hercules hasn't been warned as much in the past as DW.

Yes, SR's flaws did force a certain person to boast about certain things, until he realised (too late) that he was going to get banned for it. The flaw allowed the ghost posts, but they took it too far, hence may they stay banned.

Why oh why would I want to talk to Hercules ?
