A common thing happening at Ireland games is the booing of players who have played or are playing for Rangers.
On Wednesday at the Ireland game everyone going into the stadium was issued with a written warning saying that anyone booing Rangers players would be thrown out of the stadium and banned for 1 year from Irish games.
I'm seriously opposed to the booing of Rangers players and think it a disgraceful act. What do you guys think?
The reason why Rangers players get booed is not because of the whole Celtic/Rangers thing. It actually started when Rangers banned Irish players from playing for Rangers I believe. This is not the case anymore, although no Irish player in their right mind would even consider paying for them these days because of all the grief they would get at home and at Rangers.
Surely there must be some way to ending this nonsense.

I can't understand it either. Why can't people just enjoy the match. I have no tolerance for people who boo a player because of what club he plays for at international matches, it's pathetic.
> What Irish players play for Rangers?
None do. I never said any did. I'm talking about Irish international games where players who have played for Rangers on the opposing international team are being booed by some Irish fans.
> And if it's in the opposition, then it's all fine and well.
Not the view of Fifa. The FAI are being threatened with large fines over it.
> And are you not bothered about Northern Ireland towards Celtic
> players if we're going to go into the sectarian side of things?
Of course I'm bothered about it. I'm a Celtic fan and am abhorred at the threats Neil Lennon got, but it is not the subject of my topic. The behaviour of some Irish supporters is.
And if it's in the opposition, then it's all fine and well. Well, booing is. Not secratian chants.
Most fans boo opposing players.
And are you not bothered about Northern Ireland towards Celtic players if we're going to go into the sectarian side of things? Neil Lennon of Celtic getting death threats from men from his own country because he plays for Celtic is a lot worse than a player getting booed on the field.
