If i get a domain name from getdotted do i have to have freeola as my isp?

They change them for free.
Only if you want to transfer the holding of the domain will they charge. If you stay with them you'll have to pay the OTT registration fees or you pay £15 and move and you can pay less to renew the domains.

I like the forums and the people but won't ever use Get Dotted and very rarely buy anything from SR, thats the way it is unfortunately.
I'd plug the hosting company I work for, but I like this account.
Buy your domain at 123reg.co.uk and get it hosted wherever suits your needs for webspace/bandwidth.

Having to use Freeola dial up is so out of date, most people have their own Broadband with NTL/BT etc etc so having to go back to 56k and pay per minute takes the pee.
Time Freeola reviewed their whole getdotted policy if you asked me. Well actually it's about 2 years overdue.

You will have to dial-up to Freeola.
What i thought is that you get a domain with Getdotted and it is hosted for free and you dont have to dial up to freeola!?!
When I say give them a ring I'm referring to Freeola...
Getdotted are pretty expensive for domains...
Try other places.
You DON'T have to use Freeola as your host though, if you find another host, just give them a ring and get them to change the nameservers on your domain to point to the new host.
That's what I did. My domain is registered with Getdotted (moving it next time it comes for renewal because it's cheaper) but I use another host...
