Heh, kinda defeats the whole point of it, eh?

You use cron to run commands at certain times. For instance, I use cron on my linux server - every night at 4am it contacts Mandrake to see if there are any security updates. If there are, it downloads and installs them.

Or at least it would if I could be bothered to figure out why it doesn't work, but you get the idea :o
