Frentxen and Heidfeld have restored some pride for themselves and Sauber as they take a 1-2 finish in Belgium. It wasn't enough to keep Heidfeld in the Championship race as Firman did the sensible thing and not try to chase the Sauber's and settled for 3rd.
The early going was tight and close as they all tried to find a position on the track. The mistakes started coming after about 5 laps when Button made a mistake followed by Da Matta, Alonso, Villenueve and Pizzonia at varying points throughout the race. Ralf Schumacher had a incident that wrecked his race. He tangled with Barrichello, Barrichello managed to not lose any places but Ralf Schumacher lost his front wing and any chance of points.
The first retirement was on lap 17 when Verstappen's transmission failed and all these failures could be the reason why Verstappen probably won't win the Championship this year. Irvine's engine blew up on lap 33. Montoya needed to score some points to make his job easier but he crashed on lap 39 and Button crashed into Montoya to retire also. Wilson was the final retiree on lap 43 with a transmission problem and was classified 18th.
Frentzen takes his first win of the year, followed by his teammate Heidfeld but both have no chance of winning the drivers Championship this year. Firman continues to set the pace at the front with 3rd place. Barrichello scores 5 points for 4th and that takes him off the bottom of the drivers standings. Raikkonen finishes 5th and Alonso gets some points for 6th but loses more ground to Firman. Trulli gets 7th and 2 points and Coulthard scored the final point with 8th place.

Firman increases his lead at the top to 12 points with only 3 rounds to go. Lets see who is still in with a shout of winning the drivers and constructors Championships:
Drivers still with a chance of winning the Championship:
Firman
Alonso
Villeneuve
Trulli
De La Rosa
Button
Montoya
Verstappen
That means the drivers from 9th place down cannot win the title as there is only a maximum of 30 points available in the drivers Championship.
Constructors still with a chance of winning the Championship:
Jordan
Renault
B.A.R.
Williams
McLaren
Minardi
Sauber
Senna G.P
With only 54 points maximum available, Jaguar, Toyota and Ferrari can no longer win the constructors Championship.
With only 3 round to go, Firman is looking comfortable at the top but we still have to travel to Italy, America and Japan so there is still plenty to play for and pride at stake. We head to Italy next and only 8 drivers and 8 teams have the main prizes at stake. You won't want to miss how it turns out!
