I was quite amazed to see how well the new "Chelski" appeared to play together. Like so many other people, I wasn't expecting a team of so-many world-class talents to "gel" so easily; yet they showed those Scousers - and the majority of the Premiership - just how to keep the ball and get a good passing-movement going.

I didn't think Liverpool were too bad, either - surprisingly.
Harry Kewell looked as-good-as-ever, but also the only one-man who was ever gonna come close to beating Cudicini, during open-play.
They're backline looked quite strong at times, but Bruno "Zee next Zidane" Cheyrou looked like the piece of French cack he really is - and not an up-and-coming World Cup-winner! :P

It was great to see Chelsea come away as winners - just because they beat Liverpool! :D

I doubt they'll be able to compete, directly, with Man United for the Premiership this season, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them ' right up-there' by the end of next season, with the way things appear to be going now.

They could one-day-soon have THE best midfield in the Premiership...!

And leaving Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink out was a mistake - and that was proven. If Ranieri wants this 'solo-striker' thing to work, he'll have to realise that Jimmy is the man, and that Eidur Gudjohnsen is not.

Now, don't get 'ME' started about that penalty incident....

I'm surprised he's ever in the England squad, seeing that there are players better than him such as Beattie and Defoe. I think he's called in because he can also play as a winger, and has a special trick of losing his marker by falling on his backside. ;^D

I almost die of shock every time Heskey hits the target. Luckily it doesn't happen very often :D

Im surprised Liverpool actually scored...

I agree with AJ, the scouser's are not very pleasing to the eye - barely any creativity when Gerrad's not playing and Kewell is not given the freedom to produce.

I thought Kewell said he had joined the team "on the up" and Man Utd were "on a downturn"

Veron is a legend.

Must have felt great for Veron to smash that ball into that net shutting up all those stupid scousers who kept booing him!

Unless a Chelsea goal is disallowed by the FA for some reason.

Chelsea won 2-1 by the way. So yes Liverpool will be lucky to have even got a point :D

Is it just me or are Liverpool the single most boring team ever to grace football?

Every match I watch I have to sit completely and utterly bored out of my mind watching Liverpool pass the ball along their own half way line before occasionally (once a half) chipping it forward to Heskey who'll volley it towards the roof of the stadium.

They're lucky they got a penalty. Lucky they got a goal. Lucky Chelsea didn't perform as well as they should've. And lucky they even got a point.
