Usually i'd say "fairplay..... he is inexperienced, give him a bit more time and we'll see if he continues to perform at the same outstanding level" and this would be the case this time if it wasn't for the injury list England have at the back on the right. Neville, Brown and Hargreaves all injured and Mills is the only recognised right back in the squad, and most people think he's crap anyway. What better time to blood a youngster who by the looks of things will easily displace them when he is more experienced as he is the first in god knows how long, who can defend and get forwards, and hits a particularly mean cross. Usually i'd say make him wait his turn and get a bit more experience in, but with all the players at the back out and the game being a pretty pointless friendly he at least deserved a place in the squad for his endeavours over the last 6 months. Plain stupid ommission. Especially as Sven has undermimed the whole experience issue by calling up kirkland who hasn't played a competitive match in over a year and like Johnson has only played about 30 games, Rooney is another example, got called up after about 15 games having only scored 2 goals. Sven lets have a bit of consistency. Is it because the world would end due to 5 chelsea players being in the england squad? lol. Oh well there's always next time but if he shows he is willing to select inexperienced players who perform well (kirkland deserved a call up before his injury any way, rooney however is just stupid hype), then surely he is showing the weirdest possible selection process by not drafting a player into the squad who has performed brilliantly in his position when all but 1 of the other options are injured.

i would like to state that i did read your post almost fully (ill admit i skipped the last line, because in most posts this just says- what do you think or something) i did see that you said that you were only saying this because of the injury crisis, but if youll read my post below ill explain my reply further. i would like you to point out another time when you believe i didnt read a thread.

i base this on what badgerman wrote.

> i think that he should be in the squad and most others would

this is because there was a lot of excitement and we are soon to be lacking in that position. what i said may be open to criticism, (which is the whole point of your thread) but i thought that would be the general consensus.

> EXCEPT for the fact that he has played only a little and is still young. > i would deffinatly be more interested in this argument at the end, or towards the end of the season. (although euro comp might not work to that plan)

here i give my reasons as to why he may be left out, or why people would disagree with my previous statement.

a couple of weeks ago we got into a scuff about something about chelSEA and i noticed that i didnt want to start anything. i guess it was a bad start to begin with -stop your chelski rant. i think you have some good players in your team, just like you admire henry, HOWEVER sometimes i feel you can be so biased and extraordinarily pro chelsea that it just gets annoying. i try to be as fair as i can in situations involving arsenal or rivals, but that doesnt mean that im only a fringey supporter of arsenal.

*NOTE again i apologise if any others have a problem with the length of this post.

I doubt you would've cared if he was still playing for West Ham.

Let him mature in the Under 21's

Sorry that is an outrageously long rant but it had to be said.

The experience issue is key, but he is actually our second most experienced viable right back at the moment! Think through all the right backs in the league, there are hardly any english ones and only mills and johnson are england standard. as i said in the middle of the rant, i would only call him up for this squad because of the extreme circumstances preventing the others from playing, and even then i would start with the tried at tested mills.

er thats exactly what is said! i wouldn't blood johnson either as he is inexperienced! but it seems a bit stupid not to have included him in these EXTREME circumstances, I have come to conclusion that you only read parts of posts clazon (if at all, for if you had read this post you would have observed:

"Usually i'd say "fairplay..... he is inexperienced, give him a bit more time and we'll see if he continues to perform at the same outstanding level" and this would be the case this time if it wasn't for the injury list England have at the back on the right"

My first line stipulates he doesn't deserve a place in the squad! yet you fail to read this.

"Usually i'd say make him wait his turn and get a bit more experience in, but with all the players at the back out and the game being a pretty pointless friendly he at least deserved a place in the squad for his endeavours over the last 6 months"

5 lines later i re-iterate he should only be considered due to the exceptional circumstances, and that he should left until he has more experience, but if all the experience doptions are out, it is an opportunity to givr him a bit of experience and try options for the future with out actually having to displace experienced internationals.

Oh and look a third time:

"surely he is showing the weirdest possible selection process by not drafting a player into the squad who has performed brilliantly in his position when all but 1 of the other options are injured."

only as all the other options are out. this isn't pro chelsea, just because you are jealous of what is happening at the bridge, doesn't mean you have to construe any comment about a chelsea player as pro chelsea rant!

You completely under mime your own situation by arguing mine far better than i did! you stipulate that :

"i think that he should be in the squad and most others would"

I didn't even say this, i just argued he was a very good player and deserved a chance with all the injuries, you go so far as to suggest he deserves a place in the squad.

The fact that you a member of an oppositions team support agree withthe opinion, shows what nonsense you sppeak when you say this is a "pro chelseki" rant, when you say it is a view that not only you but others would hold (experience argument was already argued by me). I am glad you appreciate his talent, but i'm getting sick off you taking any comment about chelsea to be a pro chelsea rant, when you yourself consider it to be true.

I personally think Henry is the best striker in the league, If you as an arsenal supporter were to stipulate this, i would not consider this to be a pro arsenal players rant, just an opinion i agree with tooi don't think its unreasonable to stipulate my view on a topic which is accepted by many who follow football.

If on the other hand i had stipulated "Bogarde, Stanic, Zenden," would walk into any other team in the premiership, then you have the right to call it a pro chelsea rant, but the stipulation of a reasonable and widely shared view is not, desite the club i support.

Inexperience... that's the reason. If he plays 30+ games this season, and is competent, England call-up practically guaranteed.
