First offence, rehab, further offences, deportation. To the bottom of the Atlantic.

How about mandatory yogic flying [a la the Natural Law Party]. No prisoner can get out of prison until they satisfy the watchful eye of a Tibetan monk. Rehabilitation via mystical discipline.

You can call me a revolutionary if you want.

That's a good answer - I'll go with that.

First offence, and only first offence, rehabilitation. Second time, punishment. And not these stupid couple of years sentences, but 10 years minimum, second offence 20 years, and so on. If you don't learn your lesson first time around then we as a society do not need you !

Some crimes should carry a minimum of life with no parole for 30 years, other life with no possibility of release - terrorism would be something I'd class as worthy of that sentence.

Rehabilitation. They need to be shown that what they did was wrong, and they don't HAVE to do that sort of thing, they can get jobs and work an honest living.

But, yeah, multiple offenders should get life. I'm not kidding. They've proven they can't "get along" with society, don't let them be part of it. I reckon five minor crimes or three majors and that's it - 30 years, no chance of being let out early. And when they're released, assuming they can actually work at all, they have to work cleaning the streets until they retire, which for most won't be long at all. It's what they deserve.
