Thanks to 2 policemen who had their charges dropped, there has become a loophole that makes speed cameras illegal if
"The signs have a black border around a speed camera logo which infringed the Road Traffic Regulation Act."

Thanks BBC and British Police.

Speed cameras are stupid. It's like they've been thought up by Hillbillies.

"Let's catch de dawg gawn speeders, pa"
"Aah got dis here cam-air-ah to take a pic-choore"
"Hey paaaa, that's a bit un-fay-err on dem dere speeders, let's give 'em a warnin' foirst"

The result is that people get a nice warning in the form of signs that tell them when to slow down to avoid the cameras. Sure, it slows them down, but only for the small amount of road the cameras are on. And to top it off they've changed a lot of cameras to bright colours so they're more visible. Either have the cameras with no signs to catch them out, or the signs and no cameras to save time and money.

I speed a bit though, I don't want to but it just edges over a bit and I need to brake.

Surely it's easier just to travel faster thatn the speed of light,t herefore the camera will take a picture of an empty road.

If you do get caught they send you a form to fill out, on which you admit to the crime (you have to fill this bit of the form out by law and the evidence is already demonstrating you are guilty). This form filling is to speed up the process so when you appear in front of the magistrate's court they can serve judgement on you and get you out sharpish. However they have to let you off if the form isn't signed by you, as no signature means that you are not admitting the crime.

There is no legal requirement to sign the form.

I prefer to use James Bond-style twirling number plates.

Heh. I bet there's gonna be a mad dash now between speed-racer boys and traffic police men racing to beat/remove the signs! Brilliant, just like Dukes of Hazard, I imagine it to be. with a monkey, like Every Which Way.
