Yup goldfish do have a brain span of like 2-3 seconds, well mine cerainly did. Keep looking i have seen it on the internet somewere.

Not sure about other fish but I heard that Golfish have something like a 3 second memory.

Actually, it's a bit of an urban myth that fish have very short memories. Studies show memories of six months and upwards. It may have developed a personality - you're not a fish, you'll never know.
