Dance does use instruments uve just got to look for it deeply. There is a special guitar sound to dance music and live shows can be performed with a DJ called Tiesto performing a live show with a 60-piece band and orchestra behind him while spinning and performing his own tracks. The vocalists are usually very talented in dance as well. Some people are morons in whatever music doesn't mean there ain't decent people who do listen to dance.

Furthermore, it's just a collection of synthed sounds, with heavily harmonised vocals. There is little influence from any actual musical instruments, and most of the sounds that are taken from instruments are altered and edited to the point where they're barely recognisable. I doubt any of it can be performed in a live performance, and even if it is possible, I doubt it would be much of a show, which is why I don't consider it to be real music, per se, as I see live performances as the real core of music, much preferring it to albums and the like, since you can 'feel' the energy, and usually see a huge, blasting on stage performance. Therefore, I don't like people describing it as 'music' either.
I don't mind people having different opinions, the world would be boring without it, but I honestly can't abide dance/trance, because I see it as a musical abomination, and associate it with the scum I described earlier. That's how I see people who like dance/trance by default in my head, that's my mental image.
