Ralf Firman has won the Hungarian Grand Prix and that gives him the Championship lead heading into the final 4 rounds of the season. Firman had the fastest car on the track by a long way and never looked back after taking the lead in the first few corners of the race.
The race got off to a slow start with everyone following each other in a procession for 19 laps and no one except Firman able to get a good gap between themselves and the car behind. Lap 19 changed it when Button retired with a throttle problem which could have been more serious than it was.
Panis's car looked good for the race but an oil leak caused a fire meaning his retirement on lap 24. The varying strategies came into play with the majority opting for a long first run and a short middle. With every car being so close, places were won and lost in the pits. Ralf Schumacher's race ended on lap 42 with a puncture.
At this point in the season, mistakes should be a fairly rare occurance and that was generally the case for the majority of this race. Frentzen, Irvine and Fisichella all had major spins and lost places. Michael Schumacher made a crucial error when he crashed out on lap 51. Fisichella caught the wreckage of Michael Schumacher's car and needed a new front wing.
Another driver needing a new front wing was Heidfeld but his mistake led to the retirement of another car. Heidfeld ran wide and swerved back onto the track. He caught Alonso and Alonso was forced to retire on lap 59. Heidfeld lost plenty of time with a new front wing being required.
Irvine was running high in the points when he got a puncture and retired on lap 61. Raikkonen also looked like scoring pretty heavily but his transmission failed on lap 64. Verstappen looked like picking up one point for 8th place when his engine blew up with just under 2 laps remaining on lap 76.
Firman has the Championship almost in his hands after the win today. Wilson kept in touch with the pack for 2nd and held off a charging Coulthard to get 2nd with Coulthard in 3rd although Coulthard looked faster. Montoya continues his recent consistent form with 4th place. Trulli's early form is slowly returning as he takes 5th but is it too late? Da Matta's car looked slow but held up a few cars on his way to 6th. Frentzen makes it 2 points finishes in a row with 7th and Villeneuve picks up his first point in a few races with 8th.

Fastest Lap: Firman 1m14.703s
With only 4 races left, Firman is the new Championship leader and has a 9 point lead over Alonso. In the Constructors Championship, Jordan and Renault are level on points with B.A.R just 5 points behind them.
With 40 points maximum available for the drivers and 72 points for the Constructors, we can tell you who can't win the Championship this year. The drivers that can't win the Championship are (in Championship order):
Da Matta
Webber
Panis - Last year's champion
M Schumacher
Frentzen
Irvine
Barrichello
Only 15 drivers now have a chance, mathematically, can win the Championship. All the teams are still in it currently.
We head off to my personal favourite race track, Belguim, for Round 14 of 17. What is going to happen in this unpredictable SR F1 Championship?
=D
Oh Stuie...good race pal.

Shut up you!

I'll assume that was a blip on my way to an unlikely title =D
