Hi,

Wasn't quite sure where to post this so here goes (you can always move it).

I am seriously looking to redevelop my websites using Joomla, the Open Source CMS package..

At the moment, I am using XAMPP locally via localhost to write and test my Joomla sites.

Would it be straightforward to implement my future Joomla sites on the Freeola infrastructure?

Are there and Joomla sites hosted on Freeola that I can have a look at?

Thanks,

Neil

It *appears* to be working well now.

Thanks.

I've no idea without looking at your installation and error logs. You should be able to check you error logs via FTP. You need to turn off caching in the Joomla config as well. Other that that there not a lot more I can help with. Joomla and other 3rd party script will work on our servers but we can't provide technical support for them

Still nothing.

I double-checked the permissions too.

I installed both packs as they suggest.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: When I logged *out* as admin and retried as no user (the sites default) - it worked.

if it's SecurityImages or anything similar then you need to check the parmissions of the captcha php file.

Yes GD is enabled on all the servers. GD is used to manipulate and create images. I'm guessing the plugin may be trying to write an image to a folder so it will be a permissions check again.

Eccles:

I've been trying to run a plugin on my site but nothing is happening.

I notice that the system requirements for the plugin include PHP GD.

No idea what the GD bit is but Is PHP GD installed/enabled on the servers?

Thanks.

This man is pure genius.

I had them set to 755 as I thought no-one but the ownder should have write permission - but thinking about it, that just wouldn't make sense (long day).

Many thanks for your continued help in my plight.

With your Joomla install the following folders need to have their permissions changed to 777:
administrator/backups/
administrator/components/
administrator/language/
administrator/language/en-GB/
administrator/modules/
administrator/templates/
components/
images/
images/banners/
images/stories/
language/
language/en-GB/
language/pdf_fonts/
media/
modules/
plugins/
plugins/content/
plugins/editors/
plugins/editors-xtd/
plugins/search/
plugins/system/
plugins/user/
plugins/xmlrpc/
templates/
cache/
administrator/cache/
logs/
tmp/

You can login here using the username and password freeola to see that the correct permissions are possible. Once logged in go to Help > System Info > Directory Permissions.
